One of my favorite things about music is its ability to take you places. Here is a transport ticket to another world…filled with romance, passion, and drama. This album as a whole is something a friend gave to me and I've yet to grow tired of it.

There is nothing more inspiring than musicians who sing because they feel something so strong they cant keep it down. Maybe its a deep feeling of joy or pain, maybe an ache or sorrow, but whatever it is.....they have it in them.

The guitar lick on this kills me…..I hum it endlessly. In some way every time a road trip comes up, this song lands itself on the mix. Bowie. Does it really get any better?

I saw this opera L’elisir d’amore by Donizetti and instantly fell in love with Domingo. His voice and his presence is something everyone should see at least once in a lifetime.

I remember the first time I heard this song, in a car, outside a chilly day in Philadelphia on a station that I had never heard of before then. It stopped me and I waited to hear the end.

This songs arrangement is exquisite. Caetano has the voice of an angel fallen to the earth and I cant get over the pulsating strings.

I am in love with all the recordings of the Bossa Nova years…
