James bought the vinyl of their third album 'Teen Dream' because we were living and working in a Beach House in Santa Monica and it had a nice cover. When we heard it though it really inspired us and was never off our playlist. A great band.

This soundtrack is probably the biggest inspiration for our new album. Almost every email sent to anyone involved asked them to "make the album sound like Blade Runner".

This has been a staple of ours for years now. James bought the vinyl of their Greatest Hits in Santa Monica on vinyl and it was very rarely off the record player.

Listening to this driving from Santa Monica to Las Vegas at full volume while doing 150 mph in a BMW M5 is a once in a lifetime experience. For a kid from Glasgow anyway.

Any time we hear this we are transported back to our big house on the beach with Bobby Womack turned up VERY loud.

The vocal on this song is great. Every line is an individual piece of brilliance.

Rab has 'Reach Out Touch Faith' tattooed on his arm. Can we pay them a bigger compliment than that?

Weird French pop genius that is super infectious. Some of the best sounds ever recorded too and another inspiration for our album.

This was another one never off the turntable. Starts off with an amazing drum beat that could almost be trademarked itself.

We all got into Queen in Santa Monica too. Freddie Mercury has such an amazing electricity about his voice, and his whole performance in general. Bowie is the only person worthy to perform this song alongside him.

"This was just some dismissed background music in the back seat of a car going through Mulholland Drive. Dismissed background music…for 52 seconds and then the line. ""Everybody knows what's going wrong with the world, but I don't even know what's going on in myself"" No longer background music. No longer dismissed. It hurt. It was me. It's probably you right now when you are reading this."
